A grand canyon is formed from the Colorado river in the United States. This world-famous Grand Canyon river valley was formed due to natural tectonic activity in the Colorado Plateau. Now we can see a large valley formed by many layers of the Paleozoic and Proterozoic. And this became an intriguing activity among geologists and archaeologists. This Grand Canyon accumulated too much history and enchanting wildlife. Every step has some new archaeological and geological story with many wild animals found at this place. The Grand Canyon is where we can see the marks that tell that thousand years ago, people used to live inside and outside the canyon. It was a home for eleven native American tribes. Lieutenant Joseph Ives discovered the location and the Colorado River under a government expedition in 1857. In his report, he describes this place as valuelessly, profitless and unworthy. And he also said that they were the first and last people who visited this location. But time passes away, and he proves wrong. Then in the year 1893, president Benjamin Harrison announced this place to be seen by tourists and established the Grand Canyon National Forest Reserve. This location’s development was made as time moved, and the rail facility was given to the visitors to Grand Canyon village in 1901. South Rim at Grand Canyon is a beautiful place with many destinations.
Well, while moving to the village, the white snow covered every portion of this area, but the truth is that it added beauty. Visiting this heritage and vintage place during the winter accumulates joy for everyone. As I witness, one lady mainly designs all the landmarks here, and her name is “Mary Cotler”. She is the one who gives shape to every location while keeping comfort and beauty. It was a big deal for ladylike Mary Cotler, who had the guts to take responsibility for developing the most iconic site for visitors. My words are significantly less for the incredible job the gutful lady did.
William Owen Buckey O’ Neil was multitalented. He has many skills that make him an author, judge, miner, politician, and tour guide, and now this place is a beautiful guest house built in 1890. To stay here, one needs to make bookings before arriving at this place.

The EI Tovar Hotel: It was built in the year 1905 near the southern rim railway line. It is also known as “National park service rustic.” The design was given by CharlesĀ Whittlesey, one of the railway staff. He designed this place in a comfortable way with four stories. In the initial days, it was famous among the elite people who stayed here and enjoyed the beauty of the great Grand Canyon Valley.

In honour of Fred Harvey, a tiny museum was built inside the lodge.
We arrived here at this location, Horseshoe Band, with our own vehicle and paid $10 for the parking rent. Sometimes this location is busy, and sometimes you find very few visitors. But, my mood to explore the whole Grand Canyon and this location is on the list.
As we move ahead, walking on the natural red passage no concrete construction here, a natural way that leads us to the destination. By walking around one kilometre, we reached the exact location. And after that, we witnessed the beautiful natural horseshoe band and captured this site’s various moments and scenic views. Here we can see that the Colorado river is taking a turn, and a giant horseshoe-like formation can be seen. We stayed here till sunset and clicked beautiful images of these natural scenes.

If you are planning to enjoy river rafting, then it is suitable to carry all the safety gadgets and accessories required to enjoy river rafting. Well, I am not a person who personally likes this activity. So, I cut it down from my activity list. I enjoyed hiking and walking around the red hilly areas, and for this, I packed many things required during my hiking, and the most important was the shoes.
During the winter, this place looks incredible. It seems like nature covered the grand canyon hills with the white bed sheet. I can express myself in this way only.
