The Virginia state flag was designed in 1861 by Charles Keck. It has the state seal in centre of the flag. The seal is inscribed with the Roman goddess,, which stands for goodness and virtue. The goddess in the seal is holding a spear and a sword standing over a cruel king and wearing a helmet. Below the seal some phrase in written as “Sic semper tyrannis” which mean that “Thus always to tyrants”. The background of the flag is all of blue color.
